Well for a start I think we will have real time voice chat to look forward to, not only that but you will have the ability to see the person you are chatting to at the same time as playing your games. There will be games developed to enable mini leagues of players or teams either side. There has also been talk of using more of the five senses; we have during play which will include feeling pain, using smell and taste. Imagine being able to feel pain or smelling your surroundings, ok some smells might not be very favorable but to make it more realistic, then no game player would mind this. Real life of course is not just about our five senses, our thoughts and emotions would play a much bigger role during game play if a future game could hook up to our personal feelings and emotions. Imagine a future game, where you were feeling scared, the game could detect this and manipulate the game play accordingly. Of course the massive leap with gaming would be a display device invented to replace the television or monitor screens we know it. What I am talking about here is a realistic holographic display device, something that you could wear and that puts you in a virtual world, perhaps on another planet. Such a devise will be developed in time and will have to be mass produced to allow the price to be within gamers budgets. Gaming for the future has the power to be either a benefit or a disaster for the user, the realistic future of gaming will lead to much more violence and nudity may become a concern because it will be so realistic. I mean who will bother to even go out and get a real girlfriend when you could have your own virtual girlfriend. Anybody can see how far games have developed over the last thirty years, beyond many gamers wildest dreams, so who is to say what cannot be done in the future of gaming within the next thirty years. It all starts with what the game developers can dream up then put that idea into reality. Graphics in some games now are so good, it is hard to tell when you switch from a movie cut scene into the actual game play. I have played games where the movie cut scene has finished and I have not realized until I start getting shot up by my opponent. Or a helicopter flying past that looks so real that it makes you jump while playing. I have to admit I am in awe of these game creators, with the skill they posses, to keep developing these fantastic games is a real achievement. However their skills will only get better, as the demand for better games keeps rising, these game creators will strive to achieve what we believe to be the impossible.
